Cybersecurity is high on the agenda of almost all organizations, but surprisingly enough smartphones and tablets are escaping attention. Research shows no less than 80% of mobile devices are not secure. A remarkably high figure, especially when you realize that good security solutions have been available for years.

In mid-October, there was some commotion in the media as a result of statements by Jan Swillens, head of the Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) in an interview with De Telegraaf: “I think that the board of directors of a large organization should no longer meet. about trade secrets with a smartphone or iPad on the table. They are super handy, you have all your information at hand with them. But the risk of espionage is simply too great.”

Mobile Threat Defence

Where the MIVD advises not to discuss trade secrets with a smartphone or tablet nearby, the Defence Information Systems Agency (DISA), a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) organization, selected Zimperium Mobile Threat Defence (MTD) to deliver comprehensive Mobile Endpoint Protection (MEP) to the unclassified government furnished (GFE) devices of servicemen and women around the world.

Zimperium will protect DoD mobile users and endpoints against phishing, malicious/risky apps, OS exploits and network attacks.
